Great cozy place to chill in heartland area! Nice and friendly staff + great music! They are really enthusiastic and provide great services. The music was not too loud but awesome volume for chit chat among the group. The waffle is really fluffy.. love it! Prices for ice cream and waffle are decently cheap compared to other cafe! Will visit again!

– Normz Nom

Small, cosy place suitable to come with friends and family. Wide variety of ice cream flavours to choose from. Prices are affordable too. I ordered earl grey and sea salt caramel and they tasted awesome! Will definitely come back again.

– Jeremiah Tay

Nice ambience in the cafe, definitely a great place to have some ice cream and chill with your friends!

Geometry Gelato

Geometry is a minimalist heartland café specialising in handcrafted gelatos and desserts since 2016. A modern dessert café formed by a mathematics major and her friend back in 2016, Geometry Gelato has a name that sounds as complex as their desserts taste. Although they do not make ice cream the old-fashioned way, they produce rich-flavoured gelatos from scratch by infusing tea and botanical elements, renowned chocolates, and high quality nuts into their creations. Their products are all-natural, low in fat, slow-churned to achieve the perfect density, and fine-tuned to the local palate. Try Geometry’s precisely crafted gelatos with their signature tarts, brownies, and waffles.

– Nonsouris

Decent ice cream and waffles hidden near ABC brickworks, plenty of seating and nice vibes to chill and have dessert after a meal nearby. An assortment of common fan favourites like dark chocolate, mango and rum and raisin, there’s also more adventurous and exciting flavours such as earl grey Tie Guan Yin and affogato. They sell ice cream with tarts, brownies and waffles available in sets that consist of a single scoop of ice cream and a base such as waffles or brownies and a nice cup of cold brewed lychee tea. Signatures are the earl grey Tie Guan Yin, goma, chrysanthemum and strawberry pocky.

– Jasabelle Chai

Their ice cream and waffles are good and have a lot of varieties of flavour. Love their dark chocolate and pistachio flavour! I also love their brownies as they aren’t so sweet and no walnuts. It’s a cozy environment to hang out with friends! The bosses and staff are friendly and nice too! Recommend to visit the café.

– Kyler Bui

A nice cosy cafe in the neighbourhood where it served assortments of ice cream flavours. Many of them look & taste delicious! The Belgium waffles taste “superb-ly” good (soft on the inside and crisp on the outside), it was a perfect match with the various ice cream selections in the café. My overall experience with the café was great and I will go back again!

The Humble Scoop

The Humble Scoop is an ice cream and waffle cafe in Kovan and Katong that serves up Ribena-inspired ice cream and more. If you are looking for nostalgic desserts with a twist, head down to The Humble Scoop. They offer a range of locally inspired ice cream in flavours such as Pulut Hitam, Guava Sourplum, and Kopi C Siew Dai. Alternatively, they also have more classic flavours including Pistachio, Earl Grey, Old School Chocolate and many others, so there’ll definitely be a flavour for everyone. What’s more, they are open till midnight, so you can pop by for your supper fix!

The Humble Scoop, run by Yvonne, Meixuan, and Ivan, first started out three years ago in Katong Shopping Centre, right next to Dona Manis Cake Shop. In July 2021, they expanded their business and launched their second outlet at Stars of Kovan in Upper Serangoon, a much bigger, more central space.

– Kai Jing

Came to this ice cream shop hidden inside Katong Shopping Centre. It is located just beside the old bakery that sells choco tarts. Staff was helpful and recommended me a few flavours before I decided know Orh Bee Good (Pulut Hitam). Quite nice with the bits inside, not overly sweet. Staff also kindly served me a cup of water when I sat down.

– Esther Sung

Unassuming, very “humble” looking shop in the basement of Katong shopping centre. But don’t be fooled! The ice cream here is delicious, and the local flavours are very unique. Tried the strawberry lassi and pulut hitam flavours, both were excellent. The strawberry added a nice tang to the sweet waffle, and the pulut hitam was mild but very unique. Will definitely be back again to try other flavours!

– Yu Shan Leong

Very good ice cream! Tried the orh nee good (orh nee) and orh bee good (pulut hitam) ice cream today. The pairing with waffle was fantastic. Price was reasonable. Previously tried the pistachio ice cream and it was nutty, fragrant and delicious too. Service was good with water served the moment you are seated. Will definitely visit again!

Hay, Gelato

Hay, Gelato is a casual brick-and-mortar shop along Bedok North Avenue 3 serving creative gelato by the folks behind Brine. The shop is simple and beautifully decorated with flowers. There is also seating space both indoors and outdoors.

Hay Gelato boasts flavours like Balsamic Strawberry and Meyer Lemon. True to their name, they have a flavour called Smoked Hay made by smoking real hay and infusing that into their gelato. With its second outlet in Katong, east-siders have more to choose from for their midnight ice cream fix.

– Kenny Yap

Top quality ice cream and waffle, cosy and modern interior with a nice touch with the dried flowers and opens till late. The ice cream is also topped with crunchy bits of pistachio and chocolate chip which adds a great dimension to the texture and look!

– Aaron Zane

Really good gelato spot in bedok! Gelatos were really great and the prices were reasonable as well. Staff were super friendly and helpful too! Tried the matcha and the black sesame flavours. The matcha was slightly icy but milky, while the black sesame had a strong flavour. I thought it was really dope that they went the extra mile having special different toppings for every single flavour! Will definitely be back.

– Matthew Phang

Nice small waffle gelato shop that opens till 2am to satisfy anyone’s late night craving for fresh waffles and gelato. Waffles are freshly made to order, you can smell when you enter the shop. Waffles are crispy on the outside, soft inside with very natural taste. They offer a nice selection of gelato. We tried the chocolate & avocado gelato. Taste was good and goes well with their freshly made waffles. Price was reasonable for a waffle and 2 x single scoop gelato. Will definitely come back again to try more of the gelato flavours and waffles.

Betsubara

Full or not, there’s always room for dessert in our stomach. This is what Betsubara (Japanese for “separate stomach”) is all about. Betsubara specialises in Japanese concept handcrafted premium ice creams. Their Hokkaido milk-based ice cream is made with premium Japanese ingredients that do not contain eggs and preservatives and are low in fat and sugar, making it a popular choice among vegetarians.

Their unique and seasonal flavours can be ordered through a cup bundle or in pint. For starters, we recommend their signature Sea Salt Hokkaido Milk Pint or their sought-after Kyoho Grape Pint.

– Vienna Ho

Best waffle and ice cream I’ve ever eaten! Super crisp on the outside, but chewy on the inside. If you don’t know what ice cream flavours to pick, vanilla and salted caramel butterscotch is your best choice! Staff are also super friendly and nice. By the way, their ice cream scoops are super big too. Very worth the price! 1000% will visit again.

– Crystal Koh

High quality ice cream, dense and full of genuine flavour. Tried the dark nama chocolate (love this not too sweet with some crunch) and rock melon. Their soft serve is also good. Service is excellent. Waffle cone is crispy and nice too!

– Javier

Yummy! This is one of the best ice creams I have eaten! The ice creams are not overly sweet like some other brands and is suitable for elderlies! Their Kyoto Grape, Hokkaido Sea Salt and Rock Melon ice cream deserves a solid 10/10 as the taste is very authentic, sweet and nice tasting! Would highly recommend everyone to try out Betsubara’s ice cream as I believe they are one of the nice tasting ice cream!

Monarchs & Milkweed Gelato

Soursop Mint, Ispahan, Goma — we bet we’re tickling your curiosity by now. Good news: you can get all of these flavours at Monarchs & Milkweed, the brainchild of two cooks who are dedicated to bringing innovative ice cream variants to their fellow Singaporeans!

Monarchs & Milkweed Gelato promises unorthodox flavours like Brown Butter Sage, Rhubarb Buttermilk and Ispaphan. Even if you wanted the classics, you’d be presented with more. Chocolate is elevated with hazelnut paste; this combination is also known as the Gianduja, a flavour invented in the 1700s. Meanwhile, their simplest flavour commits to using Tahitian vanilla for its intense aroma and complex flavours, which comprises an underlying layer of spices and cherry.

This promising local shop offers a fresh take on the classics and reinvents famous herbs and fruits into the finest gelato blends. Choose from their wide range of flavours and have them in a cone, a pint, or a cup.

Be mesmerised by the aesthetics of this cafe. It has a mix of royalty and rustic, with its teal and gold colour scheme against a bricked wall.

– Charmaine Lee

This is hands-down my favourite gelato place in Singapore! The ice cream is buttery smooth (you can see it in how smoothly they scoop the ice cream). I always go for the burnt white chocolate; it has crunchy bits of (maybe) burnt caramel. It’s amazing! The service is great too! They’re always full on weekend nights, so it might be tough to sit and hang for long. Definitely a must try though!

– Sia Liqing

Have been a repeated customer since a year ago when I stumbled across this shop, because the waffle cones smell so good! Always order with the cones, they are VERY fragrant. Gelatos are creamy, not sweet and flavourful. Highly recommend: Burnt white chocolate, Peanut butter, brown butter sage and Hazelnut for creamy flavours. Isaphan and coconut pandan for refreshing ones. Overall, would say better than some more well known competitors.

– Lindy L

This has got to be my favourite gelato shop in Singapore. Each flavour has its own unique taste, so creamy and delicious. Definitely worth the trip down!

Located at the ground floor of The Bedok Marketplace in the corner outside, you can find this small shop serving ice cream, waffles and drink. Be totally lost for words with every lick and bite of your frozen goodies from Smitten Ice Cream Bar. Their artisanal creations feature both standard ice cream picks and robust local flavours made even tastier with real ingredients of the highest quality. You can even invite your Muslim friends over for a cup; Smitten’s products are Halal-certified!

Pair their munchies with their Signature Mao Shan Wang, Special Kurma, or Ondeh Ondeh and you’ll get what we’re talking about!

– Calvin Huang

Cosy and snug with unique flavours especially the Peanut Butter mudpie – waffle is nice and crispy when freshly made. Apple crumble ice cream is refreshing and not too sweet a nice round up after a hearty meal around Simpang Bedok!

– Nur Azuera

Been here many times and its definitely my favourite waffle place to go. Simple menu. Nice crispy yet fluffy waffle and has variety of ice cream flavours to pair with. Even local flavours like putu piring and durian. Staff are pleasant as well!

– Bee Leng Tan

Very delicious ice cream.. probably one of the best, if not the best ice creams in the east! We tried Smitten’s Speculoos, Salty Caramel, Artisan Chocolate, Black Sesame and MAO SHAN WANG and they are superb!

Sweet Cheeks Gelato

Sweet Cheeks has one of the sweetest mottos for an ice cream parlour. And they are right when they say “You Make Me Melt” because their flavour options are truly to melt for. Bragging a diverse menu, Sweet Cheeks brings both nostalgia and new with familiar flavours like Honeycomb, and Honey Chrysanthemum with Cacao Nibs.

– Randall

Been coming here for a while now. Their waffles are honestly so damn good. Crispy on the outside and holds really well even as the ice cream melts. Best flavors for me are honey chrysanthemum, cereal milk, and pistachio!

– Yee Sing Lee

The ice cream were amazingly good. So many interesting flavours that I couldn’t decide what to get. Settled for chrysanthemum with cacao bits and ricotta & pistachio – honestly couldn’t get enough of them. Highly recommend!

– ES Lim

Great cosy place. The ice cream selection is artisanal and not your usual run of the mill. My personal 3 recommended flavours are honey chrysanthemum with cacoa nibs (try this if you’re a fan of Earl Grey and want a cool alternative), acai banana and honeycomb. Paired with waffles.

Burnt Cones

Starting in the quaint neighbourhood of Sunset Way, this little gelateria that serves its gelato in (as you guessed!) burnt cones has grown to include two other outlets. The cones’ smoky taste brings out the creamy gelato’s flavours, especially when paired with the nutty Pistachio or the Fior De Latte. Since it is 96% fat-free, don’t stop at one; go for the double scoop and enjoy your gelato in smoking cups.

– Karen Ng

One of the best waffles around hands down, pistachio ice cream was fantastic. The ice cream was creamy and delicious, and there was an interesting variety of flavours. I particularly enjoyed the pistachio ice cream which has a strong nutty fragrance! Good place to swing by after a dinner nearby.

– Kimberly Wong

The ice cream has a really smooth texture and the different flavours goes well together. The waffle had a nice crisp and did not become too soggy even though the ice cream was on it for a good amount of time. The cones were also a perfect size to fit 2 generous scoops of ice cream, perfect on the go! The ambiance at sunset way is a plus since it’s really nice for a good catch up with friends or meetups.

– Ritz Teo

Cosy ice cream cafe with a selection of unique ice cream flavours. The ice cream scoops were quite big and the waffles were really good!

Birds of Paradise

From long queues at Jewel, to two new outlets, Birds of Paradise has spread its wings to bring its botanical gelato experience around Singapore. Using natural botanical ingredients such as fruit, flower, pods, and spices, their herb-infused gelato menu brings the South East Asian palate right to the tip of your tongue. Their bestsellers include White Chrysanthemum, Midnight Gianduja, and Lychee Raspberry; have them in a cone or in an eco-friendly sugarcane pulp cup.

– Freddy Kua

One of my favourite ice cream place to go to. Upon entering, you will be hit with the beautiful aroma from their hand made cones. Love the unique flavours here including some local ones.

– David Poon

Arguably one of the best ice-cream parlours (sorbet available!) in Singapore. Not only do they make the waffle cone fresh in the store, they also have the widest range of (non-sour) sorbet ice-cream (chocolate, osmanthus, pear, coconut, mango, etc). My favourite was the Coconut that has small chunky bits of coconut in it and it taste refreshingly amazing!

– Yukino Angela

Probably one of the best gelato I have in Singapore thus far. Their waffles were freshly made in the shop. And they have a wide variety of interesting gelato flavours. I chose the sea salt hojicha and can distinctly taste the hojicha, which pairs really well with slight saltiness. Would totally go back to try the other flavours.
